It’s been 5 years since Toronto hosted the 2015 Pan and Parapan Am Games, when TO2015 CEO Saäd Rafi said that “The TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games truly captivated and transformed our imaginations…our community demonstrated that we embrace diversity and inclusion.”

Does the community embrace diversity and inclusion, particularly in the sports and recreation area? Does this statement resonate as true? What does diversity and inclusion look like to you? Let us know your thoughts and experiences.

This year, we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Canadian Paralympic Committee president Marc-André Fabien reflects on these events by remembering their "phenomenal example and steward of inclusion" and "look[s] forward to seeing that growth continue for many decades" (source).

Glasgow's 2014 Commonwealth Games was said to set a "new benchmark for inclusivity", hosting a record number of Parasport events and medals. As well as, making the accessibility of their venues a priority.
