About Variety Village
Variety Village is a charity and recreational facility that works to help youth with disabilities and those who face developmental barriers achieve life goals through sports and life skills programming. Variety offers inclusive and family-friendly programming in Toronto and across Ontario in collaboration with community leaders and the YMCA. Along with programming in fitness, sports, summer camps, life skills, activities, and coaching, members are welcomed into a community that empowers children with disabilities to be seen, participate, and feel included. The Facility
The Variety Village recreational facility is equipped with 2 swimming pools, a cardio room, accessible equipment, a state-of-the-art weight room, a MONDO indoor track, a rock-climbing wall, and 3 full-size sport courts. Click here to learn more about the facility's accessible features.

Membership
Members can choose between an annual membership, four-month membership, and day passes. Financially subsidized memberships are available through the Variety Village Children's Charity.

Programs Offered

Variety is currently hosting two virtual programs. Ability in Action is offered to educators, students, coaches, or service industry leaders that are looking to learn about inclusion, acceptance, awareness, and teamwork. Adult Day Programs are offered for individuals 21 years and older with a physical and/or developmental disability. Participants will have an opportunity to gain confidence and independence in group and individual settings through learning initiatives including lessons in multiple subjects, recreational activities and sports, and life skills such as cooking, lunch planning, and meal preparation.

Outdoor Soccer is currently offered for ages 5-9 every Saturday until August 28th. Sessions are limited to 25 people at a time and social distancing rules will be followed.

The Variety Athletic Club (VAC) provides the training ground for seven different sports teams. This includes the Flames Swim Team, Sunshine Swim, Taekwondo, Volt Hockey, Athletics, Wheelchair Basketball, and Weightlifting. Learn more here.

Along with competitive and recreational swimming, Variety offers Aquatics Leadership classes. This consists of the Junior Lifeguard Club, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross.

Camps are offered during summer, professional development days at school, holidays, and march break.

During regular programming, Variety offers a wide selection of fitness classes including the Cardio & Weights, ZUMBA Fitness, Core-fit, Body Burn, Cardio Interval, Chair Fitness, Framework, Circuit Fitness, Circuits & Kick-boxing, S.H.A.P.E, Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Pilates. Programming for kids and toddlers include Cardio-Kids, Parent & Tot Swim & Gym and Teeter Tots. Speciality programs include Building Blocks, Sport & Social, and Wicked Wednesday. Individual programs include One on One Reading and One on One Fitness Conditioning in the FIeldhouse/Multi-Sensory Room.
